Traditionally, the North is often seen as offering poor choice for vegetarians, so we’re delighted to see that it now boasts two of the best veggie restaurants in the UK. Congratulations to both Dandelion & Burdock and The Waiting Room for helping to break the mould.

Our mystery diners couldn’t praise the Red Lion enough. The pub is exclusively vegetarian, the range and choice of food was excellent, the staff were helpful and the atmosphere warm - congratulations to the staff and owners at the Red Lion.

I don’t think we need to say any more about this product but once tasted never forgotten. Annette Pinner, Chief Executive at the Vegetarian Society, visited Marks and Spencer’s Head Quarters in London where she presented the award to Helen Brennan, Desserts Product Developer.

Halo: Light Moisturising Cream

Halo was founded in 2007, by Soni Zuberi Shah, after her own search for affordable, natural, unperfumed, paraben-free, skincare products revealed that there was very little choice in the UK market. Vanessa Brown, Corporate Relations Manager, presented the award to Ziggy Shah from Halo.

The observant among you may have noticed that the look of the awards changed this year. Usually the awards have been made of glass but this year we decided on a new design – here it is - it’s made of recycled plastic bottles.
