Facts you just need to know about Chocolate and its heavenly qualities.

1. Chocolate became fashionable in Europe in the 17th Century and in 1657 the first chocolate house was opened in London.

2. Cacao is the Mexican name for the bean where the ingredient originated.

3. Milk chocolate originated in 1875, it was developed by adding condensed milk to the chocolate liquor.

4. Plain chocolate should have a minimum of 34% cocoa solids but the better quality ones are 50%.

5. Casanova drank it in preference to champagne.

6. The biological name of the plant translates as "food of the gods"

7. Chocolate was not made into an edible bar until the 19th century.

8. Cocoa butter melts at just below blood temperature, which is why it has a sensual feeling in the mouth.

9. On the negative side it is high in fat and sugar and is associated with obesity, tooth decay and migraine.

10. On the positive side it is prized for its aphrodisiac qualities!!!!!!
