London's first Shojin Kaiseki tasting menu (7 course vegan meal traditional Japanese style), as well as Chef's special dishes featuring seasonal delicacies such as cherry leaf seasoned rice dumpling and cherry blossom ice cream. Saki celebrates the NVW together with the London's first Cherry Blossom Fesvital (until 25 May) in association with Akashitai Brewery. Various prizes available for event participants. Vegetarian version express lunch set, 3 course lunch/dinner, and Chef's special Ultra Low Calory 4 course meal (less than 300kcal) are also available. Customers who mention NVW upon their dinner table booking will receive a complimentary glass of Akashitai sake. 7 course must be booked 24 hours in advance. Shojin Kaiseki is an integral part of Japanese cuisine cluture, dating back to the introduction of Buddhism in Japan back in the 6th Century. Naturally healthy and well-balanced, this exquisite Japanese vegan diet has rarely been seen on menus in the west as it has to be done properly and requires specialist skills that are often taught to a chef over many years of culinary tuition. Saki's Head Chef, Yoshitaka Onozaki, coming from the reputed Hachinoki Restaurant in Kamakura, is the only chef in the UK with dedicated experience to introduce this delicate cuisine to London. London's Top 10 Restaurants for Vegetarian and Vegan Meals by Time Out in 2008, First Japanese restaurant to be featured as Restaurant of the Month by Cook Vegetarian!, the UK's only monthly cooking magazine for vegetarian (the June 2009 issue).

A totally vegetarian, collaborative dinner given by the Raymond Blanc trained chef Prosenjit Kumar (head chef of the Greenbank) and the Cordon Vert trained Nicola Willis (proprietor / chef of the popular Pea Souk cafe). The menu celebrates the best of the spring produce and highlights some excellent local growers of vegetables and suppliers of vegetarian products in Cornwall. It is a 4 course meal which centre's around Asparagus, Fennel, Spinach, Broad beans, Cornish earlies and Rhubarb. The full menu is available on the Greenbank hotel website. Anyone with a relatively simple special diet/intolerance will be catered for ( vegan, wheat/gluten or diabetic). The Greenbank hotel boasts the most spectacular view of Falmouth Bay and this combined with the fantastic food promises to be an evening to be remembered.
