Vegetarian Society approval offers consumers an easily identified standard of vegetarian labelling, allowing them to recognise the difference between minimum vegetarian standards and the higher criteria associated with Vegetarian Society approval. The ‘Vegetarian Society Approved’ Symbol ensures a product or meal is free from meat, fowl, fish or shellfish, and ingredients resulting from slaughter; is GMO free and is free from cross contamination with non vegetarian ingredients during the production process. In addition, any eggs used in a product must be free range. NOTES TO EDITORS · Vegetarian Society Approved products are licensed to use the Society’s ‘seedling’ logo, indicating that they meet strict criteria for vegetarian suitability. The logo does not indicate a partnership of any kind between the Society and the manufacturers or retailers of approved products. · The websites listed may contain other products which are not Vegetarian Society approved. The Vegetarian Society does not accept responsibility for medical/health claims made by producers in relation to approved products. · For a definitive list of Vegetarian Society approved products visit www.vegsocapproved.com · For more information please contact Su in the Press Office on 0161 925 2012 or email su@vegsoc.org .
