The Vegetarian Society Awards 2009
Veggies love haggis!
Best Vegsoc Approved Convenience Food Winner announced
30 October 2009

Whether on the supermarket, deli or health food shelves, everyone likes a helping hand now and again. It’s a testament to how far the vegetarian market has developed in recent years that five fabulous products are competing for the Best Vegsoc Approved Convenience Food, and this year the winner is Macsween Vegetarian Haggis.

Vanessa Brown Head of Corporate Relations for the Vegetarian Society said, “Many people wouldn’t think veggies would want to eat haggis but MacSween’s Vegetarian Haggis is a different matter. Not only is it a great talking point, it’s delicious, and is brilliant for special occasion feasts or an everyday meal.”

The other nominees shortlisted in this category were: Cauldron Cumberland Sausages,
Tesco Vegetarian Cheese and Leek Sausages, Goodlife Fairtrade Nut Cutlets and Linda McCartney Sausages.

The Vegetarian Society Awards 2009 winners were announced last night at the Magic Circle Headquarters in London. The evening was hosted by Wendy Turner Webster, broadcaster and author, and patron of the Vegetarian Society.

This is the Vegetarian Society Awards’ ninth year and guests came from across the UK to celebrate the very best in vegetarian food, catering, and lifestyle, highlighting to the nation those companies and services which make life better for vegetarians in the UK.
