Veggies are serious about chocolate
The Vegetarian Society Awards 2009 - Best Non-Approved Product Winner
30 October 2009

Although some 6,500 products carry the Vegetarian Society Approved trademark, vegetarians also enjoy many others and the Best Non-Approved Product category invited them to choose their absolute favourite. The list they came up with shows that while vegetarians do care about the details, they are far from puritanical! The winner of the Best Non Approved Product for Vegetarians is Hotel Chocolat–Serious Dark Fix.

Vanessa Brown, Head of Corporate Relations for the Vegetarian Society said, “Hotel Chocolat – Serious Dark Fix speaks for itself. Available online or on the high street, these chocolates not only give clear labeling, they use quality ingredients, have superb flavours and deliver all they promise. A luxurious treat – congratulations.”

The other nominees shortlisted in this category were: Innocent Smoothies, Gu Cheeky Little Pots au Chocolat, Rachel’s Forbidden Fruits Organic Yoghurt, Levi Roots Reggae Reggae Sauce, Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Macadamia Ice Cream.

The Vegetarian Society Awards 2009 winners were announced last night at the Magic Circle Headquarters in London. The evening was hosted by Wendy Turner Webster, broadcaster and author, and patron of the Vegetarian Society.
This is the Vegetarian Society Awards’ ninth year and guests came from across the UK to celebrate the very best in vegetarian food, catering, and lifestyle, highlighting to the nation those companies and services which make life better for vegetarians in the UK.
