The winner is the David Bann Restaurant in Edinburgh.

Other nominees in this category were: Ginger Café – Halifax, tibits Vegetarian Restaurant – London, Food for Friends – Brighton, Terre à Terre – Brighton, Dilli Restaurant – Altrincham.

Best Non-Approved Catering for Vegetarians

The winner is Greens in West Didsbury, Manchester.

Other nominees in this category were: Canteen on Clifton Street – Cardiff, Pizza Express – nationwide, Tampopo – nationwide, The 78 – Glasgow, The Gate Vegetarian Restaurant – London.

Vanessa Brown, Head of Corporate Relations for the Vegetarian Society said, “Congratulations to Greens and David Bann, it’s fabulous to see these top quality restaurants winning this year. It just shows that veggies want to eat delicious, imaginative, quality food as much as everyone else.”

The Vegetarian Society Awards 2009 winners were announced last night at the Magic Circle Headquarters in London. The evening was hosted by Wendy Turner Webster, broadcaster and author, and patron of the Vegetarian Society.
This is the Vegetarian Society Awards’ ninth year and guests came from across the UK to celebrate the very best in vegetarian food, catering, and lifestyle, highlighting to the nation those companies and services which make life better for vegetarians in the UK.
