The Vegetarian Society Awards 2009
Crumbs – Byron Bay Wins
Best Vegsoc Approved Snack or Confectionary Winner
30 October 2009
As
any veggie will know, grabbing a snack on the go, or finding a sweet
treat for
the kids can be more trouble than it’s worth if you have
to read all the small print, checking for gelatine, cochineal or dozens
of e-numbers that aren’t suitable. So every treat that proudly
displays the vegsoc approved logo is a winner. The overall Best Approved
Snack or Confectionary 2009 is Byron Bay Triple Choc Fudge Cookies.
Vanessa Brown, Head of Corporate Relations for the Vegetarian Society
said, “Byron Bay Triple Choc Fudge Cookies are the treat you want
to give yourself! Completely veggie and melt in the mouth, one really
isn’t enough.”
The other nominees shortlisted in this category were: Swedish Glace Smooth
Vanilla Dessert, Kettle Chips Lightly Salted, Munchy Seeds Pumpkin Mix,
Millions Strawberry Flavour Sweets
Last night the Magic Circle Headquarters in London was the venue for
the Vegetarian Society Awards 2009. The evening was hosted by Wendy Turner
Webster, broadcaster and author, and patron of the Vegetarian Society.
This is the Vegetarian Society Awards’ ninth year and guests came
from across the UK to celebrate the very best in vegetarian food, catering,
and lifestyle, highlighting to the nation those companies and services
which make life better for vegetarians in the UK.
