The Vegetarian Society announces new chair and trustees
The Vegetarian Society is pleased to announce that following its recent AGM, Milan Shah has been elected as Chair of the Charity’s Council of Trustees, replacing Brian Rogers, and Umesh Parekh has been elected Deputy Chair. Milan has been on the board of trustees since September 2006, while Umesh has been a board member since September 2005. The Vegetarian Society of the United Kingdom is an educational charity promoting understanding and respect for vegetarian lifestyles. It offers expert advice on nutritional issues and provides free information to individuals, companies and organisations. The Charity organises wide ranging projects such as Why it’s Green to Go Vegetarian, www.butcherscat.com and Veggie Kids Kitchen, co-ordinates National Vegetarian Week, and has its own cookery school, the Cordon Vert. Other members elected to Council at the AGM are Clare Crowther, Graham Goddard and David Pye. They join fellow trustees Angela Bryant, Paul Cook, Karen Flower, Debbie Jones and Delash Patel. The Vegetarian Society is based in Altrincham, Cheshire and was established in 1847.
