Unfortunately the Co-operative Bank have informed us that they have decided to discontinue the affinity cards with smaller charities which are not generating sufficient revenue for the bank.

While cardholders with cards which have already been issued can currently continue to raise funds for the Vegetarian Society with its use, this will cease to be the case at some point during the next six months or so. The Co-operative Bank has told us that they will inform all current card-holders of this change at some point. We will be confirming this to all Vegetarian Society cardholders as soon as we have more information.

We are, of course, very disappointed that the Co-operative Bank will no longer be supporting our efforts to promote the benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle with this affinity scheme.

Many thanks to all those who have been using a Vegetarian Society credit card. Thanks to you, this scheme has raised £28,356 which has been put to good use to further our work promoting the benefits of vegetarianism and supporting vegetarians.

There are still many ways to support the Vegetarian Society, such as gift donation, gift membership, buying merchandise or using our ethical shopping guide to raise funds for the Vegetarian Society while you shop.
