Become a regular donor

By becoming a regular donor you will be helping to fund our work in one of the most important ways. By giving regularly we are able to count on your ongoing support and make better plans for the future. Even if you are only donating a small amount being a regular donor really helps.

If you already pay your membership by direct debit it couldn’t be easier to support us in this way, you can simply request that we add an additional donation to your annual or monthly payments.

Where your money goes

All donations go to fund our charitable work, which includes the provision of free information to members of the public, health professions, schools and the press. Your donations will also go to support our campaigns, including our ongoing political campaign, our fish-conceptions campaign and our current environment campaign. Donations are also spent in the research and development of new literature. Our youth education work keeps vegetarianism alive in classrooms around the country and our press team works hard to keep vegetarianism in the news. Your money will make a very real difference to what we can achieve.

Informing…
£3 a month pays for information and advice for three new vegetarians every month. Every week we respond to hundreds of phone calls, letters, and emails, from people interested in making the step towards a vegetarian diet. We send out fact-filled information packs to these people, giving them the knowledge to follow a healthy and compassionate vegetarian diet.

Educating…
£5 a month enables five school children to have access to practical knowledge and experience of vegetarian issues. Our Youth Education department provides free information and practical resources for teachers ensuring that children learn about and get a taste for a healthy vegetarian diet.

Supporting…
A donation of £10 ensures that 20 mothers weaning their infants onto a vegetarian diet receive the support they need to raise happy and healthy young vegetarians. A vegetarian diet can provide all the nutrients needed for growing infants and our Pregnancy and Infant diet guide for expectant mothers, parents of young children and health professionals dispels the myths and provide up to date nutrition advice.

Challenging….
A donation of £25 or more will help us to continue our independent work with caterers, food manufacturers, retailers, and restaurants by challenging misconceptions and setting standards in vegetarianism. Currently there is no legal definition of ‘vegetarian’, a major challenge which we are continuing to work towards with our political campaign.
