LocAL authorities
By getting involved with National Vegetarian Week this year, your authority can help make a positive change and address the climate crisis.
Most councils have now declared a climate emergency. When it comes to action planning much of the focus is usually on fossil fuels and switching to low or zero carbon energy. Yet, with our animal-based food system being a major contributor to UK emissions, swapping out meat for vegetarian food is one of the easiest things any of us can do if we want to make a real difference to the planet and the environment on which we all depend.
The theme of National Vegetarian Week this year is MIX IT UP! So, we are encouraging people to not just go for what they know… but to give vegetarian food a go, whether that’s going veggie all week or just for one meal…
Below you’ll find a host of resources that will make taking positive action as simple as possible for both your staff and your communities.
