It's Food Festival Time!

Our cookery school team love making super, tasty plant-based and vegetarian dishes at food festivals across the UK.

The great thing is they get to meet so many members of the public, demonstrate delicious recipes and usually get to share tasters with the audience too.

Across the summer we will be popping up at various locations for the Great British Food Festival.

Great British Food Festival – Trentham Gardens, Staffordshire

5^th and 6^th May 2024

On Sunday 5^th May our tutor Maz will be delivering 2 demonstrations. Maz has a passion for fantastic flavours and specialises in Mauritian delights! She teaches on a wide range of courses at the Vegetarian Society Cookery School. She now uses her vast experience to teach on our Professional Chefs’ Diploma.Maz has worked with big organisations, including the LGBT Foundation, Manchester University, and has catered for the England women’s cricket team as well.

On Monday 6^th May Nikita will be delivering 2 demonstrations.  Nikita’s passion for cooking began in childhood, with dreams of one day going on the TV show Ready, Steady, Cook. She said teaching at the Vegetarian Society Cookery School is the closest thing to that dream! Having always worked in hospitality, Nikita did her training at catering college. She has particular interest for Asian cookery and world cuisine.

Northern Vegan Festival

Maz and Kairu cooked up a storm at the Northern Vegan Festival in April. On the menu were delicious vegan ‘fish’ cakes and the best tofu Bánh Mí. Plus the crowd were treated to a demo of the best gato piments this side of Mauritius. Thanks to everyone who came along.
