Festival Foods of india

Step into the spirit of India’s most cherished festivals with a vibrant and indulgent menu designed to dazzle the senses. This feast brings together dishes traditionally shared in moments of joy and togetherness. Our tutor, Lajina, will guide you through some of India’s most cherished celebratory dishes in this flavoursome packed class.

Recipes you are likely to make include:

Shahi Paneer Makhani – “Royal Butter Paneer”
A regal dish worthy of India’s grandest festivals. Silky cubes of paneer cheese, floating in a rich, buttery tomato, cashew gravy infused with sweet spicy flavours, smooth, aromatic, and utterly divine.

Peas & Jeera Fried Rice
Fragrant cumin spiced basmati rice tossed with sweet green peas, and a sneaky spoon of butter, light, flavourful, and the perfect pairing for creamy curries.

Crispy Vegetable Pakoras
An irresistible street food favourite – seasonal vegetables hand-dipped in spiced gram flour batter, then fried to golden perfection. Crunchy, warm, and perfect for dipping.

Hand Rolled Naans
Soft, pillowy flatbreads cooked until bubbled and golden. Brushed with garlicky buttery flavours, these are made for scooping up rich sauces and sharing with love.

Sheer Khurma
Vermicelli milk pudding with nuts & sweetened milk.

Above recipes are subject to availability of ingredients.

You’ll be able to make the recipes you learn on this class at home, time and time again. After your cookery experience, you will be emailed a pack for you to keep containing all of the recipes you learned on the day.

An enthusiastic and passionate chef; Lajina loves to cook authentic, home-style Indian food. Her dishes are full of flavour, with a focus on health, so her recipes have a reduction of fat, sugar and salt.
Lajina’s love of cooking stemmed from wanting to cook nutritious meals for her son. She drew inspiration from TV shows and cookery books before deciding to set up her own company ‘Lajina Masala’.
Lajina believes that the key to delicious Indian food is in the spices. During her class, you will learn some perfect spice blends to bring your own curries to life!
