London Marathon 2026

Run for the Vegetarian Society

Run the TCS London Marathon 2026 in support of The Vegetarian Society

Have you always dreamed of running a marathon? Would you like to challenge yourself, whilst raising money for The Vegetarian Society at the same time? If so, you’re in the right place!

With over 35,000 runners and hundreds of thousands of spectators lining the streets to create an incredible atmosphere, the TCS London Marathon in April 2026 is one of the most prestigious running events in the world – and one not to be missed! Whether you are a seasoned club runner or just starting out, the London Marathon is a special event that is inclusive of all abilities.

Public Ballot

The best way to secure a place in the TCS London Marathon 2026 is through the public ballot. This usually opens shortly after the 2025 race.

If you’re lucky enough to secure a place, you can then run as part of #TeamVegSoc!

Charity Places

The Vegetarian Society has one charity place in the TCS London Marathon 2026, and it comes with a minimum fundraising target.

To register your interest for our charity place in the TCS London Marathon 2026, please fill out the form belowor contact our fundraising team.  A member of the Fundraising Team will then be in touch to let you know whether you have been successful in securing a place. Our applications close on Friday 11th July 2025, and we will be allocating the place from August 2025.

“A marathon is hundreds of miles. The finish is the last 26.2.”

The allocation of a place will be decided on more than one factor, but it is likely that a successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a clear plan of how they will raise in excess of £3000 in sponsorship (don’t worry, we’ve got a lot of inspiration to help you hit your target). You must be able to prove that at least £2,000 of your sponsorship money has been raised two weeks prior to the event.

Once you have applied, please do keep an eye on your emails (and remember to check your junk folder) to see if you have been successful. If you are lucky enough to secure a place, you will be asked to pay a registration fee of £50.

If you would like any further information please do get in touch with our Fundraising team at hello@vegsoc.org or call us on 0161 925 2000

London Marathon FAQs

London Marathon FAQs

When can we register with you?

Currently, TCS London Marathon can’t confirm an exact date that your entries will be available on Let’s Do This (official registration platform partner) to allocate to participants, but it will likely be in May or early June 2025. We’ll let you know as soon as you’re able to register, along with guide to help you with this process.

Do I have to use Let’s Do This to register as a runner?

Yes. Let’s Do This is TCS London Marathon’s official registration platform partner, and all participants must complete their registration on the platform so you can take part on Event Day. You will receive a unique Booking ID after completing registration that is needed for your entry to be valid.

What communications do participants receive from Let’s Do This?

Participants will receive communications leading up to Event Day (approximately one month before) with details about Running Packs, the Event Guide, start times, and other important information. If your participants have opted to receive emails from LME during registration, you will also receive marketing emails about their services, upcoming events, and Participant Newsletters.

When do participants get their bibs/running number?

All participants must collect their Event Packs from the TCS London Marathon Running Show at ExCeL London. Details about picking up the Event Pack will be shared with participants a few weeks before Event Day.

What is a charity place and how do I apply?

Applications for our place in the 2026 TCS London Marathon are now open.

The Vegetarian Society are incredibly lucky to have received 1x TCS London Marathon entry place. Due to a high demand for the place, we operate an application system.

Unfortunately, we always receive more applications than we have places, so we can’t guarantee that everyone who applies will be able to secure a marathon place.

An email will be sent to all applicants to let them know the outcome of their application.

If you are successful, we ask that you pay a £50 registration fee to confirm your place and pledge to raise a minimum of £3,000 (excl. Gift Aid).

When is the deadline to apply for a 2026 charity place?

Our applications close on Friday 11th July 2025, and we will be allocating the place from August 2025.

Do I need to do anything to confirm my registration as a charity place runner?

If you’re successful in your application, you’ll be sent an email offering you a place and asking you to complete your registration and pay your £50 registration fee.

Closer to the event taking place, charity place runners will also receive an invite from London Marathon Events asking them to complete their secondary registration form online for the 2026 TCS London Marathon. We’ll send you an email at the same time, reminding you to complete this registration.

London Marathon Events will announce specific deadlines for this closer to the time. We expect this secondary registration process to open in late 2025 and close in February 2026. Please note, if you don’t complete your second stage registration before the deadline, you’ll not be able to participate on race day.

How much do I need to fundraise?

We ask charity place runners to raise a minimum of £3,000 (excluding Gift Aid), and to pay a £50 registration fee upon being offered a place.

What fundraising platform should I use to fundraise?

We would recommend that you set up your online fundraising page using the official online fundraising partner for the event, Enthuse.
