Green Football Weekend

Cover of Green Football Weekend recipe booklet

the footballing community have the power to drive change like no other. And this Green Football Weekend, that change starts with Food.

The Vegetarian Society is proud to be supporting the campaign with recipes and info for their Green Football Weekend Veggie Cookbook.

On Green Football Weekend (2-5 February), football clubs will be taking part in greener games, taking action to reduce carbon pollution such as offering special deals on tasty veggie snacks, providing green transport alternatives for fans, and showcasing what they’re doing to create a greener future.

The campaign says:

“We, the footballing community have the power to drive change like no other. And this Green Football Weekend, that change starts with our stomachs.

If the UK’s football fans had one veggie meal a day, we could save the equivalent to removing 5.5M cars from the road, each year.

So this Green Football Weekend, give veggies a go!”

To support clubs and fans in giving veggie food a try, favourite players and football’s biggest foodies have shared their go-to veggie recipes in the Green Football Weekend Veggie Cookbook. We’ve provided the cookbook team with info and around 25 brilliant recipes. Plus our cookery school created some tasty ideas to make much loved match-day dishes at home.
