Vegetarian Society Certification Expands European Plant- Based Certification Portfolio with VEGDOG
VEGDOG’s certification marks a further step in the Vegetarian Society’s growing engagement with European manufacturers, adding a major German brand to its certified portfolio. The agreement reflects the Society’s experience in working with innovative plant-based businesses across multiple markets, while maintaining robust and trusted certification standards.
VEGDOG offers a range of 100% plant-based and hypoallergenic dog food – and even a snack for cats – developed in close collaboration with veterinary nutritionists. All products are free from animal-derived ingredients, making them an ideal choice for dogs with food sensitivities or allergies to common animal proteins.
VEGDOG’s recipes are carefully formulated to meet the dietary needs of adult dogs – without compromising on taste or quality. The range includes dry food, wet food, innovative treats, and supplements, all made with high-quality plant-based ingredients.

Beyond nutrition, VEGDOG is committed to sustainability and animal welfare. Choosing VEGDOG means choosing a diet that is not only gentle on your dog, but also on other animals and the planet.
“VEGDOG was founded on the belief that a plant-based diet is good for dogs, for people and for our planet. The Vegetarian Society certification confirms exactly that – with a level of credibility that pet owners around the world trust. That inspires us to keep going and to shape the future of plant-based pet nutrition together.” – Tessa Zaune-Figlar, Founder of VEGDOG
The licence was completed through a tailored agreement, demonstrating the Vegetarian Society’s collaborative approach to certification and its ability to support brands operating at different scales and across borders. The certification supports clear, credible plant-based labelling for consumers in both the UK and European markets.

VEGDOG now joins a growing group of plant-based pet food companies certified by the Vegetarian Society, including UK brands Omni Pet and Bonza. Omni Pet has received national attention following naturalist and broadcaster Chris Packham’s decision to feed his dogs a plant-based diet using Omni products, helping to increase public awareness of plant-based pet nutrition.
These certifications reflect the increasing availability and credibility of plant-based pet food options for consumers. Plant-based pet nutrition continues to grow in response to consumer interest in sustainability, ethics, and animal welfare.
Through its certification work globally, the Vegetarian Society supports manufacturers developing plant-based alternatives while providing reassurance to pet owners seeking trusted certification.
