Vegetarian Society ‘Vegan Approved’ Plant-Based Nutella Helps to Fuel Ferrero Growth

Italian confectioner Ferrero Group has reported sales growth of 4.6% over the last 12 months, attributed to innovation and the major acquisition of WK Kellogg Co’s cereal business.

One of Ferrero’s leading innovations was the launch of Nutella® Plant-Based in mid-2024. This new variant from the iconic brand is completely free from dairy and carries the Vegetarian Society’s Vegan Approved Certification Mark.

The product meets strict criteria to gain Vegan Certification with ingredients such as chickpeas and rice syrup replacing milk powder.

According to their website: “Nutella® Plant-Based aims to offer a delicious new choice to welcome even more people into the brand. For this reason, it is vegan approved by the Vegetarian Society.”
